The invention of high-precision imported portable oil exploration equipment has become an important tool for field scientific research and exploration testing. Providing efficient, portable, lightweight, and sufficient backup power solutions for high-precision oil exploration equipment is a key guarantee for researchers conducting long-term field work. The 18650 battery pack, with its inherent advantages, has become the preferred backup power solution for such high-tech testing instruments.

I. Design Requirements for Lithium Battery for Oil Exploration Equipment:

Oil exploration equipment is a portable field device for surveying oil geology and reserves. It detects surface geological layers, uses advanced nuclear magnetic resonance core analysis, and leverages the property of hydrogen nuclei in oil and water to resonate and generate signals in a magnetic field to detect rock properties, identify underground oil sources, and determine oil reserve content. Traditional outdoor power supply devices use lead-acid batteries, whose low energy density, large volume, and heavy weight add burden to field workers. The new lithium battery for oil exploration equipment offers advantages such as high energy density, light weight, small size, long cycle life, high safety, high voltage, and good consistency. The lithium battery pack design combines imported high-capacity Sanyo cells, a waterproof casing, waterproof aviation connectors, and an LED digital display. The solution features an output overcurrent protection value of 20A, a maximum design capacity of 40Ah, and an automatic over-temperature protection device at 70°C, meeting long-term instrument power needs. It is widely used in the oil exploration equipment field.

Specific design parameters are as follows:

1) Battery pack model design requirement: 18650-3S8P/20Ah/11.1V.

2) Circuit design requirements:

a. Single-cell overcharge protection voltage: 4.35±0.25V

b. Single-cell overcharge recovery voltage: 4.15±0.50V

c. Single-cell overdischarge protection voltage: 2.40±0.08V

d. Single-cell overdischarge recovery voltage: 3.00±0.10V

e. Combined battery overcurrent protection value (10ms): 30~35A

f. Combined battery over-temperature protection value (recoverable): 70±5°C

g. The finished battery also includes short circuit and reverse charge protection.

3) Battery cycle life design requirement: 300~500 cycles (national standard charge/discharge standard).

4) Battery dimension design requirement: 200*120*75mm.

II. Design Solution for Lithium Battery for Oil Exploration Equipment:

1) Protection Circuit Module (PCM): A protection circuit designed specifically for rechargeable lithium battery packs. Due to the chemical properties of lithium batteries, it provides intelligent power calculation, overcharge, overdischarge, short circuit, and overcurrent protection to prevent risks such as combustion or explosion.

2) Protection IC: The main protection function chip in the design solution, which monitors cells in real time for overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, and short circuit conditions, ensuring cells operate within a safe, stable, and efficient range.

3) Temperature Switch: Designed primarily for temperature protection. When the battery's internal temperature reaches 70±5°C due to other anomalies, the temperature switch activates to provide temperature protection.

4) 18650 Lithium-ion Cell: 18650/2500mAh/3.7V Li-ion cell (SANYO).

5) MOSFET: Acts as a switch in the protection circuit, ensuring the voltage across the load remains stable without rising or falling.

6) LED Voltage Display: Indicates the battery module's voltage, facilitating monitoring of battery voltage and power level.

7) Waterproof Mode: Vacuum waterproof input/output connectors, waterproof switch, and waterproof white battery case, placing the entire battery in waterproof mode.
